Odd One In is a New York-based collectible house that works with contemporary artists to translate their worlds into collectible objects. Our pieces move between sculpture and everyday use, shaped by the characters, images, and ideas that make each artist’s world distinct. What connects them is not a single format, but a point of view: something made with care, intention, and a sense of play.
About Founders
Julie and Gloria both grew up around art, but when we started thinking about building collections of our own, the traditional art world still felt surprisingly far away.
Galleries could feel difficult to enter, prices were often out of reach, and discovering emerging artists usually meant knowing where to look. At the same time, we kept finding artists we loved online, while traveling, at fairs, and through friends — but there wasn’t always an easy way to bring a piece of their world home.
That gap became the starting point for OOi.
We wanted to create a more natural way into collecting: one that begins with curiosity rather than expertise. We curate artists we genuinely believe in, then work with them to turn their worlds into objects that are thoughtful, beautifully made, and easy to live with.
For us, collecting can start with one object that makes you want to know more about the artist behind it.
Our Philosophy
We believe art does not have to stay on the wall.
It can be useful, decorative, collectible, or all three at once. It can move through the day with you, sit quietly in your space, or become one of those small things you reach for, notice, and keep.
OOi was built to bring artist worlds into everyday objects without making them feel disposable. We treat small things with the same care as larger works: through story, authorship, materials, and detail. An Odd One In piece is something to collect, but also something to keep close.
